The Seymour Duncan SSL-3 Hot Alnico 5 pickup can be mounted either in the neck or bridge position to replace a single coil pickup with a pickup offering the punch of a humbucker. The SSL-3 offer a deeper magnetic field than the SSL-5 and SSL-6. More power for more muscular styles of music while maintaining the brilliance and sharpness of the harmonics.

The Hot SSL-3 Strat® pickup sound is warmer than a traditional Strat pickup , rich with punchy harmonics. Raised flat, non-stepped Alnico 5 magnets are taller for a stronger, deeper magnetic field that increases output, the overwound voice coil provides extra power and warmth, ideal for getting big, heavy tones.

The Hot SSL-3 stratocaster pickup is a perfect bridge and pairs well with other classic vintage pickup style Strat pickups on a modern, flexible guitar. The coil and reverse polarity version (RW/RP) is recommended for the middle position, so that when combined with the neck or bridge , it cancels out the hum and gives you the best clean sound in switch positions 2 and 4 without the " 60's um".
