David Gilmour needed a punchy tone for his famous Black Strat , so Seymour wound what became the Custom Staggered SSL-5 Medium Output Strat® pickup , an overwound single coil that strikes an excellent balance between increased output and the classic Stratocaster tonal character.

Seymour Duncan Stratocaster Custom Staggered SSL-5 Alnico 5 pickup for any Strat® rock-blues-funk-hard players, one of Seymour's most famous and effective bridge pickups combined with other branded single pickups Seymour Duncan or Fender. The Seymour Duncan SSL-5 can be combined ideally with SSL-1, Fender Fat 60's, Fat 50's, Custom Shop 69 and Pure vintage 65.

Seymour Duncan Custom Staggered SSL-5 delivers sparkling harmonics, powerful sustain with excellent dynamics, by alternating finger and pick play you can make your Strat® sing with finesse. Excellent for both clean and overdriven sound, making it ideal for blues, rock and hard-rock.

Delivers bigger, fatter chords that cut through the mix more clearly than a traditional Strat pickup , solos are more present and harmonics powerful. Use it in the bridge position with a pair of Vintage Staggered Strat pickups in the neck position and reverse-wound center (RW/RP available to order).
