In 2017, after a long search for the perfect guitar, Brad Paisley acquired an original Telecaster from 1968. The guitar sounded perfect but the body of the Telecaster had unfortunately been repainted with black acrylic paint. So, Brad took the guitar to expert paisley finish luthier, Bill Crook, to have the black paint removed and instead applied a classic 1968 paisley pattern. After removing some of the thick black paint, Bill came across a surprise: the original pink cashmere finish of his 1968 Fender Tele! Brad loved almost everything about his Tele® La Brea, but there was still something that wasn't quite right: The pickups.

Naturally, Brad called his buddy Seymour Duncan , and together they created the perfect, vintage -accurate matching pickups, the Brad Paisley Signature La Brea Telecaster Set.

• Bridge pickup with alnico IV rod magnets, wax bath, enameled wire winding, fabric push-back coil lead wires, vintage 7.44k output level, copper base, reversed winding and polarity, flat gray forbon fiber coil "classic, offering the best quality you expect from a vintage pickup , but with a focused middle-range that only an alnico IV magnet can provide;
• Neck pickup alnico II rod magnets, wax bath, enameled wire winding, fabric push-back coil lead wires, 7.55k output level, and the same wire and flat pole correct for the period to provide a very consistent and neck pickup sound.
• The SD La brea Brad Paisley pickups offer the snap and twang that Brad is known for, ideal set for country or country rock, with sustain and well-rounded harmonics, full but tight bass, they also deliver for Texas Blues. Seymour made what Brad calls "the perfect set" for his beloved '68 La Brea Telecaster.
