The Seymour Duncan Stratocaster California 50′s classic SSL-1 pickups are vintage staggered handcrafted in Santa Barbara, California, and are wax-potted for flawless performance. Whether it is a mid-range guitar to upgrade or an old guitar whose pickups have not stood the test of time, the California 50's kit proves to be the essential reference at Seymour Duncan .

Since 1978, Seymour Duncan has made all of its vintage Fender style single-coil pickups with the correct "flat Forbon" fiber coil color and thickness, as well as period-correct magnetic offset, magnets are hand filed, coils assembled and lacquered as was done during Fender's golden age. Each pickup comes with AWG-42 waxed cloth and tin-plated jumper wires.

The combination of three Strat California SSL-1 pickups includes a standard pickup pickup for the neck and bridge , and a reverse-wound and reverse-polarity (RW/RP) middle position pickup for hum suppression in the middle positions.

Seymour Duncan has worked on thousands of old Strats and knows exactly what makes a great vintage pickup : the same alloys ( alnico 5 for the magnets, Formvar wire) from the period, as well as the right height of magnets, the perfect thickness of the base and the reversed polarity of the central pickup , essential to avoid background noise and obtain the characteristic attack on intermediate positions. The output level of 6.5K to 6.7Kohms is intended for a Strat® that has never sounded so good!

The neck / bridge position pickups have the same balanced output level, the same magnetic polarity, except the center position (RW/RP). All Seymour Duncan Strat® pickup sets, except the Jimi Hendrix signature model, come with an RWRP pickup in the middle position.
