Fender CuNiFe® Stratocaster® Pickup Set: The first true sonic innovation in the world of single-coil Stratocaster pickups in a generation, the CuNiFe™ models developed by Tim Shaw produce a beautiful sound that is both familiar and new, style vintage , offering deep bass, pleasant mids with beautiful presence, and smooth but bright highs that will make your playing more lively and dynamic.

Originally, the alloy of CuNiFe™ magnets is composed of copper (Cu), nickel (Ni) and iron (Fe), the proportions by mass of which are: 60% Cu - 20% Ni - 20% Fe. Fender previously only used it in the Wide Range humbucker series, using the same height-adjustable threaded magnets. These microphones allow you to obtain a very clear, noiseless sound, without loss of definition or attack, even if they are pushed to the extreme.

Fender Strat® Cunife pickup characteristics

• The chrome microphone cover serves as shielding to prevent ground loops. This makes these single-coil pickups particularly faithful and quiet, while giving them a unique aesthetic appearance and a better targeted magnetic field;
• Coveted by musicians of all styles for decades, the original true CuNiFe™ magnet pickups disappeared in 1979, when production of the Telecaster Custom ceased;
• The copper-based CuNiFe™ magnet Strat pickups are a reissue exclusive from Fender, for a sound of remarkable clarity;
• Height-adjustable studs to balance output level, 44-AWG formvar winding wires for ultra-bright sound, and single-coil humbucker-style pickups;
• The middle pickup winding is reversed to eliminate hum (ahem);
• Nickel/silver chrome covers with vintage white insert housings;

Comparison of different types of Fender pickups with Cunife

The Fender Strat Cunife pickups were created taking inspiration from the first Fender Widerange humbuckers mounted on the Teleaster Custom during the 70's. The two coils are superimposed and the Cunife magnetic studs are adjustable in height for all the strings on the principle of the traditional humbucker in order to balance the frequencies.
