Finally Fender releases a series of typical pickups perfectly suited to the sound of the Strat Artist John Mayer equipped with Big dipper pickups (60's style): With the Fat 60's Custom Shop pickup series, Fender offers a series of pickups with specifications pickup 1959/61 era overwound AWG 42, Alnico 2 mixed magnets, on a narrow, taller fiber coil inspired by Telecaster pickups.

Loaded Pickguard Strat John Mayer "Big Dipper" style

Fender Stratocaster Fat 60's pickups fitted as standard on Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop Postmodern since 2017. This vintage 1962 pearloid white 4-ply Strat type plate is a reproduction of the John Mayer Big Dipper plate with nevertheless some improvements such as the CTS 300K log volume and a Fender PIO Custom Shop .05uf/150V capacitor.

Modifiable custom assembly to order: Modification of the capacitor, potentiometers of your choice, etc. Please contact us for a personalized assembly. We assemble and mount this set on any other traditional 60s type pickguard , with aluminum or copper plate. Contact us before confirming your order.

• 4-ply white perloid pickguard, thickness 2.3mm, vintage white plastic (white) compatible with all vintage USA /Mexico/Japan type 1960/62 Strat bodies with 11 holes (1 offset screw), neck pocket width 56mm, access chamfer to the trusrod screw;
• Fender Custom Shop FAT 60's pickup set, waxed "wax pot" finish, black coil and 42AWG waxed copper winding wire, vintage wire wiring in waxed cotton sheath, complete wiring in vintage wire;
  
• Original sound of the classic vintage strat of the 1959/60 transition style, heavier and more powerful: Clear, bright, round and precise treble, very good attack, very good sustain in clear or crunch sound;
• Its very bright mid-treble, round and warm bass reminiscent of the Texas Blues sounds of SRV's Lenny Strat and the famous clean sounds of John Mayer;
• Electronic volume CTS 300K linear and 250K for tones, Fender Oiled paper capacitor .05uf/150V PIO, 5-position CRL / USA switch, general volume, tone 1 for neck pickup , tone 2 for middle and bridge pickup combinations.
