Assembly of the Fender "Fender Clapton Mid-Boost Kit 25dB Boost" kit: Includes all the electronic parts of the kit, i.e. the TBX filter with tone control, the boost controller with its active electronic plate, 9V battery connection and plug switchcraft stereo jack, all connected to the CRL / USA 5-position selector.

• TBX Clapton Controller: The first tone control knob controls the guitar's TBX (Treble Bass Expander) tone circuits. The knob has a detent in the center position which functions as a "no load", the pickups go direct to the amp out of the tone circuit but can benefit from the boost as an extra. The TBX works like a normal tone control from zero to trigger. Turning the knob clockwise from the trigger adds presence and shine. By turning it anti-clockwise, the trigger blocks the high frequencies and adds round and powerful bass in "loudness" mode which also deserves to be boosted to death to obtain the famous Claptonian saturated sound.
• Active Mid-Boost: The second tone control knob functions as an active control of the mid-boost circuit. Turning it clockwise boosts the mid and low frequencies while decreasing the high frequencies, like a kind of built-in compression/overdrive.

The Plate assembled Fender Stratocaster Eric Clapton Mid Boost Tbx kit is delivered with its assembly plan (also downloadable by clicking on the "Download" tab). You still have the 3 microphones to solder and the jack plug to also resolder. It is not recommended to place the active electronic plate under the potentiometers but rather in a separate cavity or under the bridge pickup if you have no other choice provided that the pickup is not glued to the plate. The battery can be placed on the cavity side of the tremolo.
