The Bartolini 9J1-L/S series pickups are passive models featuring an extended frequency range and more resonance. They are much more “airy” and offer better sound definition on high frequencies without sacrificing low mids. They are cast in an epoxy shell to eliminate the unwanted effects of electromagnetic disturbances.

• These Jazz Bass pickups are humbucker type, therefore noiseless, double coils in the shape of a classic single pickup but on a wider coil than the traditional vintage single coils which cancels the hums and other unwanted noises characteristic of narrower single pickups;
• Height and power calculated to offer the best sound definition with all conventional fretted or fretless neck radii;
• The Bartolini offer the advantages of the vintage sound of Alnico 3 and 5 pickups and the quality of modern "plain enameled" windings, they can be mounted on a passive or active circuit and are very responsive to tone adjustments, ideal with or without pre-amplification ;
