Hand-prepared Alnico 5 magnets with a raised D and G string magnet, coupled with a lower output level, produce a bright, well-defined treble response. Pair this pickup with our Telecaster for a great vintage sounding setup.

Like all Vintage Telecaster pickups , this STL-1 pickup remains faithful to period specification details. The magnets are prepared and cut by hand, then we assemble the traditional fiber coils by hand and dip them in a lacquer bath before winding them. The lacquer stabilizes the reel for decades of use.

After winding, the 1954 Seymour Duncan STL-1 pickup is wrapped with black cotton thread and vintage -style 22AWG waxed cloth hookup wire is soldered to the bobbin grommets. The wax coating with classic copper-plated steel alloy backplate completes the pickup for unrivaled performance.
